About
Learn about the Korean-American Society of Iowa
KASI (Korean-American Society of Iowa) is a non-profit organization founded in 1979, serving the Korean and Korean-American community in Iowa. In September 1979, nine members came together in Des Moines, Iowa, and established the Korean American Society of Iowa. With each contributing $20, they invited Professor Lee Yong-sik to serve as the first president. We extend our deep gratitude to all past officers and members, and to the Korean churches and pastors who have been part of our community since the beginning. We strive to share Korean culture in Iowa and create a future where diverse communities grow together in harmony.
